So I'm super pumped about the indie game movement and I want to destroy conventionialy retail chains with my bare hands.

During the summer, I'd like to produce a game to sell on this site. My question is, what's the easiest type of game to develop for?

I've got lots of ideas for all kinds of games, a couple of interesting demos in the CRPG, shooter and strategy game genres. What would be the best place to get started to produce something worthy of being featured on the site?

Don't expect to finish a CRPG in "a summer" -- those things take years. A shooter, maybe you can finish that in a summer, but even then, these things take time, you can't expect to tear down a huge industry in a summer, especially if you're new to making games on your own. Not to be discouraging, but take it step by step.
