Worst possible situation

Some friends and myself have (what we think) is a great idea for a game.
We've been working on concept art and storyline for almost nine months, and it's looking really good so far, except for one problem.

None of us have ANY programming experience, and for the life of us, there is nobody in the professional game industry that wants to help us with our game (big surprise, huh?)

We have no experience in the game industry, except with short emails in poor English telling us that
"neither we, nor anybody else in this line of business is now or will ever have any interest in your game unless you can pay us enough to make it worthwhile."

That, and we're pretty much broke.

Does anybody, out of the kindness of their hearts, have any advice for getting our game off the ground?

Sure... Attend meetings of your local IGDA Chapter and/or game-related Meetups, try to network to students at local technical schools, go to places like gamedev.net, and try to get someone with coding skills interested in your project.

Also, be aware that designing games is fun, but unless you're really amazingly good at it your skills are not worth much in $$$ terms.

In other words, don't look at it as having a valuable idea you're trying to sell. The situation you're in is that you're looking for someone to do you a huuuge favour.
