Any ideas on how to resolve Paypal CC errors?

A few months after my last failed attempt I've just been having another try at buying a couple of games here. No coupons this time, everything as straightforward as can be.

Paypal is still reporting multiple errors every time I try to pay by credit card. It gives absolutely no indication of what's going wrong or what to do about it. (It just says the errors have been logged, and apologizes insincerely for the inconvenience.)

I have successfully managed to buy here once back in December, so it's not as if the notion of exchanging money for goods is fundamentally misguided, but I'm at a loss of how to proceed. Any ideas, or is it time to look elsewhere and hope to find someone not using Paypal?

Arthur:

It's a problem we're aware of... sometimes the Paypal gateway declines the transaction for no reason we can quite figure out. We're working on the problem, and hopefully will have it solved soon-ish. Incidentally, you might try using Paypal proper rather than a credit card--that doesn't seem to cause problems.

I'd really rather not get into Paypal proper (they have a long-standing and apparently well-deserved reputation for cutting people off with no recourse) but it's good to hear you're working on it. If you could post again when you think you've sorted it out, I'll have another go.

God willing and the crick don't rise, this should be fixed now.

Nope, still broken. Either God is feeling ornery or someone neglected to add yeast to the crick. Sorry.

I'd pretty much given up here, so if I'm the only one still having problems I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about it.

Arthur:

Almost all cc payments were failing for a few days--we tracked that down and fixed it, and most are now getting through... There must be another bug that's affecting you, and we'll keep looking for it.

Hey,

I'm also still having a problem with this, and I actually do have a paypal account, but if I choose that option, it doesn't even load a screen for me to enter my paypal info, it just gives me the error message. This makes me sad.

I'm getting the same problem. It says "a message has been logged", but I don't get any kind of message myself, at least not that I can find. Frustrating.

Same problem here, I'm going to try with a different card.
