Outstanding and Addictive

DROD is a pretty outstanding gem of a game. The game consists of trying to clear increasingly complex rooms filled with a variety of monsters, items and traps. The puzzles basically arise out of the variety of ways these elements interact with each other. Each monster has simple rules governing its behaviour and is easy to defeat on its own, but groups of them can become a bit more challenging, especially when you have to deal with a variety of different types simultaneously. You have to kill every monster in every room, and so the challenge sometimes is to kill them fast enough or before they scurry away into a dead end.

The game also has a charming sense of humour and some excellent voice acting. There is a vibrant community producing new levels, (and an optional subscription service from Caravel Games themselves.) This game is a great value, and is definitely one to check out.
