not worthy of being compared to system shock

I tried the demo and was blasted away by the intro. I was pumped to play and must say I was a little dissapointed.
This is a decent game, decent gameplay and compelling atmosphere with good tricks of the light. So where does it go wrong?

Well, since this was compared to system shock, the sound is where it goes wrong. It took some time to get the sound levels right and initially it gave me some problem with my speakers. This is not really a problem and I wouldn't have mentioned it, if I didn't have recurring problems of gunshots sometimes triggering a sort of static sounding effect from my speakers.

That besides the point, the voice acting is horrible and this hurts double because it hurts the best thing this game had going, a fantastic atmosphere.
Couple this up with the characterless characters and uninspiring writing and the game is only so-so.

But still a decent game if you haven't been playing games for a long time yet and easy enough to grasp for new players as well.
