Perks always have a soft spot in my heart, theres nothing like periodic, ad-hoc bonuses to make feel rewarded in a way that HP and damage scaling, in their predictable way, can't. My only complaint with this game is that all the advancement is modular to the individual levels, and that some sort of macro-scale progression model would make it much deeper and engaging without much added cost to art assets.
