Hi, guys.. all I need is to know what to do next after the mana well..... at the beginning of the game. there are no other doors or anything or anywhere to go. what do I do? does anyone know... hello out there

Are you using the demo version or the full game?
If you are using the demo version the mana well is the end.
If not you can travel north east from the mana well into the lost region or you can return to the great hall and go through the now open door near the north west to the upper castle levels.

what do I do with the barrels and boxes in the way? I'm sure it's easy but i'm stuck .

There is a doorway across from the mana well that has barrels in the way. I can't get past them. Also, there is a stairwell in the castle... near the gate with barrels and things in the way. Even my kids are stuck on this. Is there any kind of a walkthrough or maps out here that can help?

Okay.. wow well, I decided to start a new game and now the stuff that was blocking the door and the stairs is gone. I got it now. It might have had something to do with continueing the game from the demo. don't know.

Good to hear you got it working. Yeah the demo and the full version are technically two different games so they would need two different save files.

In case anyone else is having trouble... there are two "wings" to the full game. You'll need to advance both wings at the same time. The mana well starts one wing, and the stairs in the main castle starts the second wing. Advance a short way into one wing, then turn around and go back to the other one. You'll be returning to the center to drop off items and gather health/mana potions anyway. It took me a good while to find the second wing when I played.
