God Goodie

I've downloaded both the Aveyond 2.0 upgrade, and the God Goodie...but I don't think either one are working. Am I doing something wrong as far as upgrading and then unzipping? Help please!

Think Aveyond1 is still installed AFTER installing version2? – How to tell the difference.

The games start out the same, and the storyline is basically the same. However, it is expanded a good bit, with new and changed maps, new quests, items, etc.

If you have Aveyond2 installed, ‘Options’ will be one of the choices (under ‘New Quest’, ‘Continue Quest’, and ‘Quit Aveyond’), plus there will be a cloud with Start-up Tips in the lower left corner of the Main Menu screen (if not covered by a portal ad). If Aveyond1 installed, neither the cloud nor ‘Options’ will be there.

MORE THAN ONE AVEYOND FOLDER:
If you installed the game more than once, or ever upgraded it, you may have two aveyond folders,and the computer may be mixing them up. We can help you get it all corrected.

Portal purchse games usually install to a different directory than games purchased directly from amaranthia. If you ever had version1, or installed an upgrade for a portal purchase, you may very well have more than one Aveyond folder on your computer, and this can confuse the computer.

Try this:
You can't use version1 savegames in version2, so only back them up if you'll want to go back to version1 sometime.

Copy or move your downloaded gamefile and upgrade file to your desktop to ensure you don't lose them. (If you bought the game directly from amaranthia, you need the full version2 gamefile only. If you bought version1 from a portal, you need both.)

Uninstall the game using Aveyond Uninstaller.exe in the Aveyond root directory.

Now, search your computer for Aveyond folders, and delete each and every one of them. This will start you with a clean slate (your unlock code is deeply imbedded and won't be lost).

Now install the game again.

This should have everything in place.

GOODIE CHEST:
Walk out into the jungle outside the Ghalarah map and save. (if you're on the map, it can't load with the goodie, I believe.)

Shut down the game.

Re-extract the goodie, and move the resulting map088.rxdata fie. This should overwrite the one with the problem if you were inside Ghalarah when you did it before. (Or you can delete/rename the original mapfile (map088_original.rxdata) first.

Now restart the game, load your savegame, and head back into Ghalarah. The goodie chest should now be in place.

Yes! I just had two Aveyond folders so the goodie was going to the wrong game. it's all worked out now and the chest appeard :D thanks
