Nightingale quest- help please

I can see the birdseed, but can't pick it up. I've been to see the nightingale. I've been to Veldt and someone there in the castle told me that the Empress was having trouble sleeping. I'm stuck, can someone help me please? Thanks!

You have to bring the Queen in Veldt a certain item from the Demon Caves (hint: there is a very similar item beside her throne). After you do that, and then earn her and her husband's respect, she will give you the Nightingale Quest.

but I have been searching the Demon Caves for days to find that item and feel that it must be in the Stronghold Temple since that is the only place I can't seem to get to in the Caves. The door to Stronghold Temple is locked and so it seems that I am still stuck. Any help appreciated!

@omah: Did you find Saurva in the Demon Caves? If so, you are playing version1, and it is the Empress in Veldarah that gives you the Nightingale quest.

THe locked door can't be accessed until all druids have been returned to Aveyond, and you're given the key.
