Hi,

I tried to download the "I of The Dragon" demo several times, but once installed (install went fine), when I try to launch the game, I get the following error message : "Dragon is not installed properly. Run setup."

I thought at first that there might have been a data loss during the download, but after 3 downloads this seemed less likely :) The data loss may have occured during the upload on Manifesto though.

Could someone try it ?

Regards,
Michael

Frustratingly enough, it seems to work fine for me.

Not sure what to suggest....

Okay...

Spending some time on this:

1. I of the Dragon was implemented using the Indeo codecs. These used to be installed on all Windows machines up until SP2 (they were originally Intel's video codec technology, but Intel doesn't support them any more). I actually took the intro movie out of the I of the Dragon installer, because I figured, okay, get rid of the movies, and rest should work okay. However, the codecs can also be used for audio, which might be the problem here.

2. I just uninstalled the Indeo codecs on my machine, uninstalled and reinstalled the game--and it failed on reinstall (with installation of some of the .ai files).

3. THen I uninstalled the game again, re-installed the Indeo codecs, and reinstalled the game--I did get an error message during installation (on one of the .ai files) but clicking "retry" seemed to work, and the game ran.

So: Please try this:

Download and install the Indeo codec installer (see our Indeo page), uninstall the game (if currently installed), try installing again, and please let me know if that solves your problem. If so, I'll put a warning on the game page about the need for the codecs.
