Great site! Actually even better than I expected it'd be. My suggestions for the site:
1. As noted elsewhere, screenshots! Preferably full-size and many.
2. Expand the forums! These hopefully should come to rival even http://forums.indiegamer.com in size, and so could do with a larger number of categories related to independent games, similar to the categories on those forums.
3. Download count perhaps, and 'sort by popularity' by default rather than alphabetically? It'd line up with the whole democratic ideal. On a lot of portal sites I've noticed that people name their games with A's or even numbers a lot, just to get first on an alphabetical list. Sorting by popularity or some other type of feeback rating by default would avoid this problem.
We eventually want to have a lot of different 'views into content'--by popularity is one, by player ratings being another. Most portals basically -only- give you the 'bestseller' sort, which reinforces the "winnner-take-all" mentality of conventional retail, which we want to avoid.
But no, alpha order isn't what we want forever and always.....
Ah, yeah, I can see what you mean. Perhaps by average rating, using something like the Amazon.com's 5-star voting system, rather than by total number of ratings, might do better as a default. Or perhaps just release date.
speaking of forum layout - any chance we could have it a little more compact on the forum home page? Seeing all those games laid out the first time you jump to the forum is a bit overwhelming.
