Geneforge problem
Hello all,
I recently purchased Geneforge here at Manifesto, and have had a problem with it that is seriously hampering my enjoyment of the game.
First my specs.
AMD64 3400+
2.5gb of RAM
gforce 7600 256mb
soundblaster live.
All are up to date and working perfectly with all other games I own, old or new.
My problem is this: Slowdowns, bad slowdowns. It started at the beginning and has gotten no better. I can be walking around somewhere and then suddenly, bam, 2 frames a second. This happens in 'spots' Where the game does this slowdown. If I manage to escape from them the speed picks up again until the next spot. There doesn't need to be any monsters or people nearby for it to happen. It just happens. People who have had a similar problem over at Spiderweb (I have trawled through the forums) have been shrugged off, with nothing to fix the problem.
I have tried all the things listed at Spiderweb software, to no avail.
However, after looking at the people who have had similar problems, there seems to be a correlation between this problem and AMD64 CPU's.
Hopefully there is something to fix this problem soon.
