And It's Free (Save Your Quarters)
And quarters, rather than dollars, it would be; Gamma Bros feels very much like a game you'd encounter on an arcade machine in, say, 1985, probably one with two joysticks, like Robotron (actually, you use the arrow keys to move and WASD to shoot in the four cardinal directions). It's a space shoot-'em-up (shmup), but unlike the frenetic madness of most shmups, it has a laid-back, almost relaxing feel.
A fun little game.

Reviews
"The best part of Gamma Bros. is the deliberately slow, quiet gameplay. Background music plays only during important parts of the game, leaving the rest of your trip silent except a few sound effects. Surprisingly the slow pace makes Gamma Bros. twice as exciting. Mixing action with the serenity of gently scrolling backgrounds goes a long way for ambience. Gamma Bros. is proof you don't need fancy video cards and polygons to make an immersing game. Just a good eye for composition."

"The pixellated graphics and bleepy sounds are part and parcel of what makes this game cool; no 3d graphics; no hi-spec machines need."
- Freeware Genius
"The control scheme borrows from Robotron: one hand controls a 2 axis movement while the other controls 2 axis firing. Aliens come out for the most part in waves and arrange themselves in formations that look like they belong in Galaga. If you're noticing all the comparisons, very good. Pixeljam has done a fine job making this game fire on all retro cylinders from the simple yet fun gameplay formula to the pixel-style graphics to the electronic soundtrack."
