Dracula Twins Is a Hoot
...says one review, and we tend to agree.
Dracula Twins is a charming little sidescroller in which you play either Drac or Dracana, the twin children of Count Dracula, it seems. Graphics are cute and cartoony--apparently, vampires are the good guys. There's a little comic-book intro (a nasty vampire-hunter has got hold of old Dad, and you have to fight your way through various environments to rescue Pater), but of course, story isn't really the point of a sidescroller.
The controls are intuitive and smooth, and you're introduced to them gradually with text during play; the difficulty level is pretty low, making it appropriate both for kids and those among us old enough that the reflexes ain't what they used to be. The music is appropriately Halloween-ish, and varied enough not to get annoying, and the graphics appropriate for the theme. One minor twist; Dracula Twins is 3D, meaning mostly that even though you're moving on a linear path, the path you follow twists around, so there's more of an illusion of depth than in a classic 2D sidescroller.
Nice.
